SEE film Competition
The films
The SEE festival invited four local universities to submit an outstanding student film for this competition and MiShorts members voted in large numbers to choose the winner. Our star rating system was linked to a real-time 'Culture Counter' that showed results as they came in, so it got pretty exciting at the end. Voting finished at midnight on February 28th and the winner received a year's membership to Shooting People and the chance to screen their latest work at next year’s SEE.
Voting

back2back productionsThe four films were made by graduate students from Brighton, Roehampton, Sussex, and Chichester universities who submitted them as examples of the quality and type of work their schools are producing. With no rules on style or subject matter, the films were varied, ranging from the intense examination of a troubled personality to a lyrical, intensely visual exploration of a faded seaside funfair.

The films
Behind Closed Doors

Behind every closed door there are stories hidden from the outside world. This film provides a brief but harrowing insight into one man's past, revealing a family secret that has had a profound impact on his life. While we don’t know who he is or where he lives, the film leaves the viewer with the queasy feeling that they have stepped into someone's very private life.
