Director:
Graham Bowers
Year: 2010
This film is a 'visual recording' of the thoughts and memories of the sole survivor of a close and loving family, triggered by returning to the childhood home after a lifetime elsewhere. 'Yr Aelwyd' is a Welsh expression that has no direct English translation, but describes the feelings, memories, warmth and security of home and family, and in this case strong feelings of nostalgia, also. The direct translation of Aelwyd means 'hearth' or 'fireplace'.
